High School: Scholar-Athlete of the Year

The Scholar-Athlete of the Year is selected from among a group of outstanding high school scholar-athletes honored each year. Scholar-athletes are selected based on their athletic accomplishments, academic performance and leadership in the community with one high school player being named as the top scholar-athlete and receiving national recognition as a member of the NFF Team of Distinction

High School: Scott Murray Community Service Award

The Scott Murray Community Service Award is given to a college bound graduating high school student scholar-athlete who has made a philanthropic impact on his community.

High School: Army Black Knight Scholarship Award

The Army Black Knight Scholarship Award is given to a high school scholar-athlete who has demonstrated outstanding achievements on and off the field in line with the standards set by the US Army.

High School: Steve Hatchell NFF Extra Mile Award

The Steve Hatchell NFF Extra Mile Award is presented to a high school scholar-athlete who best exemplifies serving others by doing more than what is asked. The recipient of this award must be of exceptional character and continues to lead others by serving and enriching the lives of everyone they come in contact with.

High School: Passion Grants Foundation Award

The Passion Grants Foundation Award is presented to a high-school scholar athlete who best represents the power of passion and the impact it can have on our communities. Scholar-athletes are invited to submit a 500-word essay exploring one of their passions. This “intentionally broad prompt” was designed to inspire reflection on what truly excites them and to afford the greatest scope for creativity in their essays.

Distinguished Texan Award

The north Texas Chapter’s most prestigious award pays tribute to an outstanding person who has maintained a lifetime of interest in the game of football and has been a significant contributor to the betterment of sport in Texas.

Legends Award

This award is presented to a former athletics director or coach who has made significant contributions to the game of football, either in the manner in which it was played and watched or the manner in which it is enjoyed by spectators.

Outstanding Contribution to Amateur Football

This award is presented to an individual or organization whose efforts and activities in the community work tirelessly for the game and in support of the NFF’s mission.

Steve Storie Official of the Year

This award is presented to an official who has demonstrated meaningful, long-term involvement with the game enforcing rules, maintaining order, and helping the game continue its development.

Media Person of the Year

This award is presented to an outstanding member of the media who has covered and promoted the game of football and its participants, particularly high school football, in the North Texas area.

High School Coach of the Year

The Coach of the Year awards are presented to high school head coaches who demonstrate the sportsmanship, integrity, and excellence on and off the field.

Collegiate Scholar-Athletes

Collegiate candidates were selected based on their athletic accomplishments, academic performance and leadership in the community.

High School Scholar-Athletes

High school candidates were selected based on their athletic accomplishments, academic performance and leadership in the community. The high school honorees will enroll in the fall at a prestigious list of institutions, including Ivy League schools, state universities and the service academies, with many continuing to play football at the next level.
